Our history

The 4 founders of the company
Plating Decor Recubrimientos, S.L. was founded on 14 April 1986. With 4 employees, the activity was initially focused on the Spanish market offering gold and silver plating, mainly for chain manufacturers.
Jewellery pieces treated with gold
At the beginning of the 1990s, the integration of specialists in the deposition of precious metals into the company opened the doors to sustained growth and extended the market to France, the Benelux countries and Portugal, among others.
In 1995, the company moved to its current location, opening a new 1000 m2 space. Since then, Plating Decor has continued to expand in the European market and now exports 94% of its products. We are currently working with the leading brands in the luxury, jewellery, leather goods, electronics and automotive industries. We now occupy 3 buildings of 1000 m2 each, with a staff of over 100 people.

Environmental commitment

Plating Decor is committed to the environment. We constantly strive for the optimisation of the resources used and the treatment of the waste produced, in order to reduce its environmental impact. We have implemented a zero liquid discharge process. We limit our consumption through optimisation and our wastewater is collected, treated in a wastewater treatment plant and reused. We sort our waste and pass it on to specialised external treatment services.

We also have metal recovery processes that allow us to guarantee that 100% of the gold not deposited on parts during our treatments is recycled internally in our laboratory and reused. In addition, our precious metal suppliers are members of the RJC – the Responsible Jewellery Council – an organisation that guarantees that its members act with respect for the environment and human rights. We also aim to minimise our impact on the environment by installing photovoltaic panels on the roofs of our facilities in 2023.

We are in the process of obtaining ISO 14001 certification, which guarantees an effective environmental management system. We want to be socially responsible and be recognised as such.

Quality commitment

We have put in place a policy of continuous improvement and carry out an exhaustive control of all our management processes. We conduct checks on all the parts that are delivered to us, both before and after processing by us. On request, we can provide a thickness report to accompany your parts. Any parts that do not conform are rejected by our quality department and re-processed quickly to avoid any delays or negative impact to the image of our customer brands.

This is why we have significantly expanded our quality department in recent years. Our goal is to be a reliable and efficient technology partner for our customers, combining speed, flexibility and quality. Since 2015, we have been ISO 9001 certified, guaranteeing an efficient quality management system.
